Since early 1999 IHC Fabrication has offered its customers the services of its pattern shop. Aided by a 5-axis EEW HSM CNC Pattern Mill they are able to produce large and highly complex models and prototypes. A model/pattern is an essential component linking your idea, the design and the final product. At IHC this link has been well known for the last 100 years. That is why during all of this time we have had our own pattern shop.
Impellers, pump housings and other wear parts with large dimensions and requiring high accuracy are among the products with which our pattern shop has built up a satisfied clientele.
Due to the demand of the market, which nowadays designs complex-shaped products with the aid of 3D drawing tools, the need arose for a 5-axis CNC controlled Pattern Mill. This machine is extremely suitable for producing 3D models that include double concave surfaces. It guarantees fast throughput and high accuracy both in dimension as well as in surface condition.
Because of the light construction of the portal it is possible to mill utilizing high feed rates combined with high revolutions. This is generally known as “high speed milling”, a term you are undoubtedly familiar with.
